This is a serious award. Below is the message we received. What do you get in exchange? An updated version of software that mentions your generosity. ALL people that help us collect $250 will be mentioned in the About box in the software, optionally together with links to their web sites or pages.

I apologize for never responding...this got lost in a batch of emails
from a while back and I have since recovered them.

Our deadline for the 2009 R&D 100 Awards is fast approaching, but I have
had time to read some details about your client-based mesh networking
solution and I agree that it may well be R&D 100 Awards materials. It
appears to meet our criteria as well.

We have a significant number of software entries each year--we would
welcome one more. The cost to enter the awards is $250.

We have several judges who specialize in software innovations; they take
precedence over my opinion, but I'd be happy to give you feedback if you
fill out the entry form. If you are having trouble with the online entry
submittal form, let me know and I'd be happy to field the entry

i developed a software solution for WiFi Mesh networking, called
Daihinia WiFi Relay and am distributing it as donationware.

one of my users was very enthusiastic about it and said it deserves
R&D100 in his opinion. :)
